Gerber Multi tool needle nose pliers. I believe the older ones were a 600 series and the new one are the Diesel series. One handed opening and don't have to fumble with folding it out.
never leave home without 'em
as long as i have my Gerber on me, i can do anything, I've even cut and crimped a connector with them before

its flat so it stays straight, unlike every other type of fishtape. great for fishing thru return air vents, great for insulated walls if you drill your hole right you send it down between the insulation and the drywall it sneaks right down. and perfect for carpet fishes up against a wall you arent scratching their wall up like you do with fish sticks. also its metal so a magnet sticks to it. and the end of it has a smooth plastic head so it dont get snagged and a hole in it so you can tie the stinger onto it and pull it back. like 12 bucks or so at home depot

have the right angle drill, it doesn't see much use (bought it on my own) but it has saved my ass a number of times.  the flat fishtape is the right price, it may find it's way into my van soon.

I have a pair of those.. smoother, without the angles though. Great for cutting battery cables and fence. (Firefighting tool)

that's cause they suck.  the switch breaks and then it becomes a $90 paperweight. or real crack pipe.

i've gone thru 3 in 2 years.

crackpipes.  i keep leaving them at customers houses.  it's my personal public safety agenda to get them to stop sharing needles...

cause i guess sharing crackpipes is a healthier thing to do, right?

I use my mod'd 77HP tracer 2 for toning.  I put in a barrel and soldered it to the pcb, added a jumper. easier for toning cable than trying to get the alligators to grab a fitting without scoring the center conductor or whatever.  Also tones thru splitters, amps, rf modulators, etc.. which is good on apartments that arent tagged and you can't find the splitter. You can also locate where the line runs in the drywall (combined with TV-90 makes locating which painting the moron hung with the oversize nail in the wrong spot) and is much more compact than using a drop locator in that situation.

I have another multi-drop toner.  Only does 4, but you don't have to throw any switches (other than on/off) and it seems to have lasted fairly well.
I don't use it that much in this system, was good in phoenix i could tone out the mta outlet, modem outlet, and main dvr locations in one trip in those 15 outlet mansions.

Brain hurts. Laptop crapped out on me. Vista repair wouldn't recognize a copy of itself on here so I had to reinstall.  Vista is dumb and wipes the hard drive when you reinstall unlike prior versions.  Lost a lot of CAD work and stuff.  Depressed but glad I have my desktop as my file server/backup for the rest of the stuff. :suicide:

Tools are fun.
