Free GPS (Mircosoft streets and Trips)
« on: January 06, 2009, 10:10:13 PM »
Guys.... and Sleep'n :)

Since 2006 I have used the  Microsoft Street and Trips GPS up until last year when my lovely wife got me a Garmin. Since that time I held onto this USB GPS that requires an computer (laptop would be good) and an updated program (I got the 2006 version that I will give ya also) thinking that I would still use this.....

Nope, well maybe once....errrr twice since I got the Garmin.

But I am unsure how to give this away. I'm not the type of person that sells shit, but would wither give it away to my neighbors or friends but the only people that I can think of that would make use of this device is here at CableTechs.

SO!

Here I am trying to think of a way to pick a person to give this to (and waiting for a call from tktowman whom I was late in replying to an email (kicking self in ass))

Help me out here and someone tell me who or why they would like or need to have this used BUT still working GPS for Microsoft Streets and Trips with 2006 CD's shipped to them for free...
way to go chappy!  that was the most abrupt hijack i've ever seen on here!  :sixer:

Pm me with your address and I will ship this to you along with the 2006 disks that I have. I had a newer version but lost it awhile back in a hard drive crash. I really enjoyed using this program when I was a service tech as it would route all of my calls in order. I fond myself going to some calls early, but it sure helped in shorting the route. I would still be using this program if the wife didn't buy me a Garmin last year for Xmas. I hope that you great much use out of it and that it helps in making your job easier.

I'm not so sure I like Streets and Trips anymore..
I have the 2009 version and was driving between Oklahoma City and Kansas City. I got off of I-35 to avoid the toll road in Kansas, and not only did it want me to go back to the toll road it wanted me to go south for about 50 miles on I-35 and then go north.  It wanted me to take that route every time it recalculated so badly that it ended up crashing the program. I tried to change the options to avoid toll roads, and it wanted me to go back south on I-35 to I-44 and over to another highway. I-44 is, you guessed it, another toll road.
Lesson learned, always have toll money.  :duh:  :wtf:
