While the homepage looks like snazzy, I don't like the dark forums - reminds me of every other haxxor/WOW/etc forum site.

Comes from growing up on Usenet. Keep an option open for grey or blue themes.

But sorry to admit, I don't see the homepage much - the bookmark calls up the forums since I've always considered this a web board site.

No worries. There was never much on the main page in the past. I will make the dark theme the default but leave this current theme as an option for anyone that wants to change back.
Just trying to keep the main site and forums matching.

Your right, the site is a fourm before a "content" site. But since it was born from CableFAQ which was actually a content site that morphed into this forum Id like to have both.

When I first set up this site I searched for cable sites and found only a few. And even those were dead or lacked any real information about things I wanted to know or learn about.
The forum here is the main thing. But the information we come up with and gather and share is priceless. Thats what I would like to preserve on the main site. ( which i guess would cause us here on the forum to visit the main site more often?)

That's how I found this forum, glad to be a member.. and from the looks of it just getting better.

Has anyone taken the time to visit the "main" site ( http://cabletechs.org/ )? I like the way that you can choose which site to visit. Also has anyone taken the time to visit the Customer side and register?

I would like to see the customer site take off and become successful just as this site has and grow as Tool has envisioned.

Layout looks good... I like seeing the industry related news (without having to search for it)... I just registered on the front page and poked around... it's a nice clean layout.

Don't forget the meta tags / keywords ...most search engines use page content now...but the meta keywords still help a bit. :)

Yeah, this is the 4th installation of JOOMLA with an integrated theme. I stopped putting everything in the META until my fickle ass setteled on a layout.

so where's the shop tab in the new layout?  or has it been downsized in this craptacular economy?
