call centerese

Ah yes. It's not really fair, they teach this language to the CSR's but don't let the techs take the class to learn it also.

good god, nobody here can spell either.

Not sure if you're referring to your office or on this board. Regardless, I cheat, Firefox has a built in spell checker. My spelling may not be perfect, but it's close. Firefox needs a grammar/punctuation checker too though.

I had a no block sync TC today... Comments read "No block sync. Modem online. no surf"

POW! <sigh>

Then yesterday on a broadcast only customer, "Audio issue"... broadcast is 2-22 here, and she was complaing that TNT on 24 had pic, but no audio... After going back and forth because "the lady on the phone guaranteed i get TNT with broadcast" I told her i'd roll out there and fix it for her... with a new trap :P

Yeah I never understood why so many CSR's use the NBS code when the modem is clearly online & there is a code for 'can't surf' they could/should be using instead.

Worst part is, i looked up the modem and it was connected to a router, called the customer and had her reboot the router and 30 seconds later she was online...

TC was 3/26 i think and the modem had an uptime of 11 days... Thanks call center dude for doing .... err wtf did you do.  :wtf:

I feel like every day I worked as a contractor was a day stolen from me.

had a job today, work order comments just said, HAS DOG.  :wtf:   so glad they used the space for such usefull info.    really funny part was that when i get there is was expecting a big, maybe aggressive dog, and it was a tiny dog smaller than my boot.

I used to go through my work orders in the morning to weed out the "no truck" and fix what I could fix before I went to the job. I would have canceled that job and commented it "Canceled order due to no cable issue, referred to a veterinarian."
