It may have been a little better if the installer would at least have hooked the phone line to the EMTA. The only reason the guy called is was because the port went through the day of the install but the tone finally died on the Verizon side 2+ weeks later. :duh: :slap

Was an Amtec contractor. Nothing happened to him. I posted these on the cabl bar before I knew of this shagrila and I was suspended two weeks and almost fired for a handbook violation.
You were suspended?  What's cabl bar and shagrila?  (I'm TWC never heard of those).

I mean no disrespect but cabl.com More of a home for bitter power "Linemen" and telco guys.

Jeez, the least he could have done was put all of the cables in a house box.  And if he really wanted the MTA outside, he could have put the plastic bag weather proofed "seal" with the MTA inside a separate house box.  I mean, that would have been stupid too, but at least it would have looked better and more out of the weather than a plastic bag laying on the damn mulching.

I will never understand techs that do things like that, though.  There's no defense for that type of work, yet there are some that can get away with it and keep their job?  Not only are the techs doing that shit retards, but so are the management that let them get away with it.
What's the matter kid?  Doncha like clowns? Why?  Don't we make ya laugh??  Aren't we fuckin' funny? ? ?

I thought I had seen it all before but I guess not. You should have got a medal for the great cleanup. I can imagine what the customer must think of cable techs. Good job.

wtf why does every one rag on all of us contractors were not all like that  50% including me in our company can out run an inhouse tech in fact ive had to go out and fix some of the inhouse guys stupidity yes even inhouse guys do stupid things that i dont even wanna think about what he was smoking that day i should have taken pics of the frat house me and my boss went out to fix the one where he told his boss every ting was new and couldnt understand why he couldnt get it to work when we got there there was duct taped conectors an analog radioshack amp and 6ways on 2 ways on another 6way annd radio shack 59 everywhere

I really don't get all the hate for contractors either, I think it those in house guys assume we do shoddy work just cause we can run circles around them all day.

Well guys the way i look at it is you have shitty techs everywhere inhouse and contractors. Not everyone has the same work ethic or takes pride in the work they do.It will eventually bite them in the ass in 20 yrs i have seen it many many times. All you have to do is the best job you can and take pride in your work and things will be all good.

agreed. It used to be that a majority of our repeats were the result of contractors.   management weeded thru all the garbage but still kept a lot of contractors.  most of our repeats are now caused by in house techs.  not all contractors are bad.

I guess it's easy to run circles when you don't stop to take the time to compress any fittings at your triple play install. Of course, couple months down the road when they're all sucked out and pouring noise that shuts down a node, it's not a contractor that gets sent in there to clean it up, is it?

While I know some contractors do boneheaded stuff like this, there are many that do not. The key is we don't generally do follow ups on the ones that do not, we follow up on the ones that screw off. And yeah I want to stick a few 8 ways up a contractors ass in my area, he keeps putting them on with no amp, and off a 23 value tap with a 2 way in one room to feed an emta and a dta, this is just stupid. But it's one guy of a team of about 15 last I knew.
You went full retard, man. Never go full retard!
