Uh yeah - in my SA system, I can have a box completely ready in 5 min. Cable card boxes about 10 (2 reboots).
To err is human, but it takes a computer to really foul things up.

Yeah this is closer to on par with what we see around here. Assuming rate codes and such as correct.

Ive never heard of hitting a converter box called provisioning, thus the confusion. In addition, yall must not be using the same software for your converters as we do ;)

well when the box loads the optimum auto provisioning app loads. first we put account number phone number and tech number in then if there are other converters in the account we get an option to remove a converter(mainly for box swaps) then it sends the info to the server and restarts. some times the rate codes dont hit the box so we call up dispatch select the ivr option input the subs phone number and the server forces the rate codes on the box rarely have to talk to a dispatcher. we can also set up a modem from the subs computer

i can have a box provisioned and loaded in 15 -20 min depending on the model and a motorola modem provisioned from boot to provisioned in less than 5 min 10 for the bonded channel modems  and up to 30 min for sciantific atlanta modems since scientific atlanta sucks on our system.

a prewired 3 room with internet and voice takes about 45 min or less depending on house or apartment and if i have to wait for some idiot to unlock the electrical room that doesnt include the time to grab another box to replace the bad one from the warehouse

Dude, do you have a girlfriend? I mean, I'm only asking, cause it looks like you've never seen a period!

:rolf  Just effin' with ya. But seriously, some punctuation would make that shit a ton easier to read. :pint:

just giving you :shit: , i agree about the punctuation.  clearly i don't care about capitalization or spelling beyond what auto-correct fixes.

It was a netgear router.  Looked at the logs, and there were [LAN access from remote] every 2 seconds on it.
Googled it and came up with this

http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/25410-42-unstoppable-remote-access
and
http://www.gnucitizen.org/blog/hacking-the-interwebs/

they had limewire so no doubtly that had something to do with it.

uPNP is universal plug n play, I am not sure how you would do that over WAN but I am sure the drivers for it are flawed somehow probably a standard stack overflow attempt but who knows.

check out the lack of default authentication bit.

Had a nice call today was for porn on 19. The house is right across the street from a motel with a local channel inserted on 19.

Problem was a easy fix but ended up taking me awhile because the wiring was fubar. Someone played cable tech and moved the splinters and inserter  around on the in house modulator. I think they were trying to up the gain by putting in front of there amp. Don't know why they might think they needed more level? It couldn't have been the cheep push on jumper they used. In the end there in house channel looks good (as good as vhs porn can look) now and the rest of the system downstream of the hotel is safe from free porn.

Tomorrow I get to go to the FAA and work on fixing there in house mess.   :suicide: This will mean I spend either 15 minuets to 1hr and security (depends on how well they want to look over the bucket truck.).

Dude FOD checks fucking suck.... My Monthly airport run involves me driving over a high-strength magnet, parking the truck on a scale before and after, and walking through a metal detector...

And only 2 hours for you?

It's a 12 hour day for me...

I wrote that bad.

Security will either be 15 minuets (AKA they don't care) or a hour plus ( The boss must be around). I need to pack a lunch, once in no going out. I won't be allowed access to certain areas and must have a watch dog with me at all times.

I am surprised there even calling us at all. They tend to run there own stuff and only call after we have shut them down for leakage (has happened more than once)

Even funnier is they have never said anything about my bucket over the top of the fence.  Need to go over the fence to reach a LE that is unreachable from the inside (I am not going threw security if I don't have too). It has been awhile since I have touched that LE. With the times now I think I may check in before I a become a news story.
