You can't just rent a modem because even subs have to pay twice for hsd service if they want 2 modems.
True, but they sure like giving (renting) out their SSID #s in the MDU's . Then the cust has the nerve to call for a truck roll for slow speeds
It's still too expensive to use all DHCT's instead of DTA's, but that would be the only way to track the boxes that I can think of. I'm sure NOT renting out 5 DTA's to a 2 bedroom apt would help also.
Haven't went all digital down here, but I can sympathize chasing low level noise all day through the neighborhood for loose fittings in the premise. I wonder of ways around this, short of making the DTA/DHCT's BNC connector input only.... could give them the 6'-10' jumper as part of the SIK, but they would still have to screw the 6 fitting at the wall plate which is sure to be loose and making the plan void.
Still... I believe encryption is a step in the right direction. Guess we'll have to wait and see how much Lobby money was thrown at the FCC this year to see if it passes.
