I use the 3'' for every 25' guideline. It might take a little longer to measure out.. but I find its WAAAY more accurate then 12 per 100' or even 6 per 50'.
Im ALL about accuracy!! !special

not compared to my 1.5 to every 12.5 feet, but i'm just striving for perfection. In fact I heard one of my drops tipped over a UPS truck, true story. they called in for a down UPS truck and I went and sure enough the drop was intact, I also heard that very same drop stopped a squirrel from trying to chew it in fact it took a bite out of the squirrel. I'm pretty proud of my work  :)

pull alot of wire out way more then you need and hang it at the house then bring your little ladder back to ur truck and move ur truck bring out ur big ladder and go up the pole once with everything u need tags traps clamps

i hang 2-3 drops a day sometimes and most of them take me 10-15 mins unless its more then 1 pole or im being lazy

When I was still a route pulling field tech I worked in mainly city areas. It was so freaking easy to pull up in the alley, throw a line over the strand and pull it to the house, tie it off and then go up the pole to attach. All off of the trucks cable caddy.

Now in the suburbs its a little more involved. The only shortcut I emply is prepping all cable at the spool then just walking up, attaching and coming back down.
I also used to keep groundwire, P-Hook, groundblook with weatherboots and ground straps in each housebox. So when I grabbed one from my truck it already had everything I needed. I didnt have to stand at the back of my truck picking this out of that bin, this out of this drawer and shove everything in my ditty bag..

This trick my not make you quicker but afterwards you can still finish the drop. Cut  a midspan drop from the house first. Unless you like thrill rides.
