WTB: SA Test Adapters
« on: July 26, 2011, 06:22:20 PM »
Hi everyone,

Looking  for some  Scientific Atlanta long reach test probes. We use SA 6940 nodes and Gainmakers here and these long adapters are great. They stopped buying the long offset barrels here and of course my barrels barely fit in my test points.

Thanks!!

Good luck.  our warehouse can't seem to get them in anymore.  i'm in the same boat as you.  the barrels don't fit in the receiver test points in the 6940

if you have any 90* rg6 fittings they are longer and work in nodes....had to use one of them a couple times....

I'd like to have at least one if not 2 or 3. How much for at least one probe and some of the long barrels?

I lost my probe a while back and I used the barrel out of a ground block for a while. Worked great. Just like a barrel with no nut in the middle.

in a pinch, ask your headend guys for a couple of low value inline pads. I use a 3pad on a regular barrel, it reachs down there just fine, just remember to add the 3 dB to your readings or testpoint compensation.

Are you talking about the f-81 (barrels) that are 3/8" on one side and 1/2" on the other?

If I can remember to look, pretty sure I still have 1 or possibly 2 in my truck.

Yeppy I can relate to that. Come to think of it, maybe thats where one of my probes went?!!, LOL

Thats exactly the picture of the Long reach probe. Damn thing just fell apart...??!

Hell, everyone keep all their spares. I'll have to break down and ask the boss for some. It's pretty sad but I'd rather ask cable guys in a forum before I go in and ask the boss. You all know what I mean!!

Thanks all.....
