I use a lot of Harris (now Fluke) tools for phone work. They are the best in punchdown tools and buttsets.

Klein 9 inch side cutters

"One of the traditional methods of imposing statism or socialism on a people has been by way of medicine. It's very easy to disguise a medical program as a humanitarian project. . . . Now, the American people, if you put it to them about socialized medicine and gave them a chance to choose, would unhesitatingly vote against it." - Ronald Reagan

My brain. Most guys I work with claim to have their own, but if they do they're too lazy to use them.

i'm willing to trade my heart for a brain and a backbone.  i'm tired of giving a shit about stupid customer issues (resi or commercial).  if i had a new brain i could realize how stupid i am for giving a shit and it could tell the new backbone to stand up, walk away, and not give in to customer whining/bitching.

That reminds me of that dish commercial where the cable co. executives saying that all their customers call in angry. It kinda pisses me off because over half of the people that call in angry are pissed that we won't do something beyond our scope. Such as wiring their home entertainment system or removing a virus.

On a side note, the tool I'd say is my laptop. I know I'm not working now, but that was crucial back when I did for the GPS.
I feel like every day I worked as a contractor was a day stolen from me.
They have like.. yellow crumbely crap on em? And smell odd.
In any event, tonight Ill clean em up and give one a whirl...

Yes Beer for sure.
I have a Klein 10in1 that I got from my previous job at a hotel. The chief engineer bought it for me (he was an electrician) and he swore by it. He was a little whacky but he seemed to know his shit. I use that 10in1 all the time (but not at work, I have a desk job :( ) and it is built like a rock. The bits dont chip or rust and the handle is fat so you can grip it and get torque.
Most people think cable is just a simple coax that comes out of the wall. They never take the time to understand how it works.

Customer: "There shouldn't be a problem inside. I hooked the boxes up myself."

Fluke Networks Need-l-lock pliers.  They are longnose pliers/scotchlok crimpers/ cutters/ strippers all in one.

Ooh and my set of LSD Creep Zit fish sticks,  by far the best sticks I've ever used, and they were issued to me by my employer, don't know if comcast issues fishsticks, but our contractor does .

so yeah, buy need-l-locks, make life way easier.
